C. Lamar Seats is a Senior Consultant for Gate House Strategies, LLC. With vast experience in the housing and business world, Seats has spent his professional career working at various levels within the multifamily and mortgage industries. Most recently, Seats served as the Senior Vice President for Greystone Funding LLC, where he oversaw FHA multifamily production for the #1 FHA lender in the nation. Prior to his role at Greystone, Seats spent several years at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. At HUD, Seats was Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Multifamily Housing Programs (“MFH”), where he oversaw over 1,100 employees across five regional and seven satellite offices from 2018 to 2021. Under Seats guidance, MFH provided mortgage insurance to lenders in order to facilitate construction, rehabilitation and the acquisition of multifamily properties. In FY20, loan production was approximately $19 billion under Seats’ guidance.

In his years prior to working for the federal government, Seats spent two decades at various private mortgage-based entities. Seats was Managing Director at M&T Reality Capital Corporation where he was responsible for multifamily loan production for the state of Pennsylvania for the Fannie Mae DUS, Freddie Mac Program Plus and the FHA MAP programs. In addition, Seats served as the Chief Executive Officer and Senior Vice President at Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital LLC. In 2013, loan production was $1.8 billion of which 48% was multifamily market rate and affordable under his watch. In the early days of his career, Seats held Director positions at both Wells Fargo Bank and Bankers Trust Company.

Seats holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and an M.B.A from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
